Exclusive Knox Heritage Member Benefit
Knox Heritage’s members only Behind-the-Scenes Tours give you the unique opportunity to explore historic preservation projects before they are open to the public.
On August 28, join us for an exclusive “before” tour of the YWCA‘s Nancy J. Land downtown center. Built in 1925, the building serves as a home, safe space and fresh start for women in need through the Jenny Boyd Keys of Hope Women’s Program. Most of the women in the 24-hour-a-day program are either on the verge of homelessness or have been homeless. The Keys of Hope program helps to stop that cycle with a 90% success rate.
The YWCA has launched a $11.5 million multi-year renovation, restoration, and expansion capital campaign to update the 99-year-old downtown building and transform the facility into its most efficient and functional potential to best serve women in need now – and for many years to come.
Building renovations are set to begin this fall, but Knox Heritage members have the exclusive opportunity to tour the site before work begins. You will hear about the long and successful history of the YWCA, their exciting renovation and restoration plans, and goals for the future.
Due to the nature of the tour, closed toed shoes are recommended and participants will be asked to sign a liability waiver. Wine, beer, and light snacks will be provided.
Wednesday, August 28 | 6PM – 7:30PM | 420 W. Clinch Avenue
Space is limited. Kindly RSVP below by Monday, August 26th.
