Services
Knox Heritage and its regional program, the East Tennessee Preservation Alliance, has decades of historic preservation experience. Consider utilizing our staff’s skills on you next preservation project.
Fees for services are dependent upon the scope of the project and some services may be provided at no cost, such as speaking at local civic clubs or assisting other non-profits. We will be happy to provide a Proposal for Services for your consideration after discussing the project in more detail.
The following services are currently available:
Federal Tax Credit Management
Management of Phases I, II and III of the historic rehabilitation tax credit documentation process (everything necessary to qualify for and receive the credits*).
*Knox Heritage does not provide guarantees or assurances that a proposed or actual rehabilitation will be determined to be in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.
National Register Nominations
Assistance with preparing a nomination for the National Register of historic Places and coordinating that nomination with the Tennessee Historical Commission and the National Park Service.
Historic Property Research
Identification and documentation of historic buildings and structures utilizing the Calvin M. McClung Historical Collection, county archives, county register of deeds, federal records, state archives, geological data, and local historical societies.
Speaking Engagements / Training
Illustrated presentations by our staff can range from 20 minutes to an hour and can be tailored to fit the interests of your group. While we attempt to meet the needs of your group, staff availability may affect scheduling.
Real Estate Services
Our organization can accept building/property donations, will assist with historic preservation easements, conduct Realtor training sessions for continuing education credits, and advertise historic properties for sale.
