Who We Are
We are a community of preservationists focused on advocacy, education, investment, and engagement. We are passionate about our heritage, and we serve as guardians to the spaces and places that make Knoxville such a dynamic and thriving place to live, work, and visit.
Preservation isn’t just about saving downtown buildings and sprawling mansions. It is about preserving neighborhoods – the places most of us call home. Since 1974, Knox Heritage has built a community of preservationists who recognize that protecting our unique history serves as an investment in Knoxville’s future.
Knox Heritage aims to inspire advocacy and action by keeping our community informed, hosting informative workshops and tours, and providing educational and networking opportunities to enhance public awareness of the benefits of historic preservation.
Our organization regularly recognizes and celebrates outstanding preservation work in our community via events like our East Tennessee Preservation Awards, our signature Summer Suppers, and our annual Scruffy City Soirée.
