Green House open house - Saturday July 17

An 1880s Victorian house, re-purposed over 25 years ago as the "Energy House" for the 1982 World's Fair, is now being renovated into a single-family residence once again. Cardinal Development and Kinsey Probasco Hayes donated the house to KH in 2009, and since then a team of volunteer architects and designers have been planning the restoration of the home that would qualify it for LEED certification. Green and sustainable building materials and techniques are being utilized to make this historic home a national model for energy efficiency in historic preservation.

The public is invited to attend a free open house to tour the building and grounds, ask questions of the designers, contractors and KH staff, and see sustainable design and construction methods in practice. The house located in Fort Sanders at 1011 Victorian Way (formerly 1011 Laurel Avenue), near the intersection of Laurel and 11th and near Fort Kid. No need to RSVP, just show up between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 17. We hope to see you there!
