James White's Fort & Blount Mansion
205 E. Hill Avenue & 200 W. Hill Avenue
Revolutionary War General James White was rewarded for his service with 1,000 acres in what is now modern-day Knoxville. General White built Knoxville’s first home in 1780. William Blount chose to build his mansion in Knoxville after signing the Treaty of the Holston just a few yards away from the home. Blount’s Mansion served as the territorial capital, as well as the family home, from 1792 until 1818. Step back in time and experience the history of Knoxville on the Tennessee River. The evening will begin with libations and Tennessee Williams’ favorite appetizers at James White’s Fort. Travel via horse-drawn carriage to the home of Governor William and Mary Blount for dinner in the gardens of Blount Mansion.
