Historic Properties for Sale Architectural Salvage
Are you restoring a historic house, or adding vintage touches to a newer home? Are you looking for a unique architectural piece to display as art or re-purpose for another use? Be sure to check out Knox Heritage's Architectural Salvage inventory. You can give new life to an old item and at the same time help Knox Heritage.
Architectural Salvage is any part of a historic structure that has been removed from its original application. Sometimes buildings are being demolished and interior details such as doors, trim, porcelain sinks, decorative windows, light fixtures, hardware, and more can be removed and saved from the landfill. Older commercial buildings that must be brought up to current codes are another source. While it's ideal to keep historic buildings and their finishes intact, unfortunately it doesn't always turn out that way. Architectural salvage is a compromise that preserves historic details and provides additional use for old materials.
