Have you looked across the river from Sequoyah Hills Park or traveled that stretch of river by boat? Undoubtedly you were intrigued by the house that seemed to be floating above the river. Those charming porches…those meandering stone paths and patios…is that house ‘hanging’ on the side of the bluff? You say, “I have to see that house…”

If you are one of the first 30 people to make your reservation, you can see inside this enchanting cottage created by Stuart and Betsy Worden. The Wordens saved countless historic Knoxville artifacts from destruction and incorporated them into their home. They later saved three historic cabins, creating two guest houses and the late Mrs. Worden’s studio. We will begin on the guesthouse terrace with sangria and appetizers, and then walk down 66 steps, crossing a waterfall into the main house, for a relaxed meal on the terrace followed by tours of the house and grounds.

Menu:

Wine, iced tea, beer

“Secret Recipe” white sangria

Fresh from the garden appetizers

Seasonal tomato and watermelon salad served over romaine

Shrimp Boil: shrimp, crawfish, corn on the cob, potatoes, smoked sausage, onions

Homemade mini cornbread muffins

Eva’s caramel cake

Key lime pie with seasonal berries
